The Synergy Organization is proud to have been retained by the University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences to conduct a nationwide search for a Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Chief Physician Executive (CPE) for its practice plan, University of Toledo Physicians.
The University of Toledo (UTP) Physicians is the integrated medical group of The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, providing the highest quality personalized care to patients throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeastern Michigan. UTP Physicians’ mission is to improve the human condition through excellence in patient care and medical discovery.
Representing more than 200 physicians, UT Physicians are leaders in clinical care, research and education of the future physicians, providing care in a wide range of medical specialties from the most complex diagnoses and treatments to primary care for the entire family. The primary site of inpatient care services is at the University of Toledo Medical Center, but many of our physicians practice at hospitals and medical offices throughout the region
In addition to providing clinical services, the organization provides administrative practice management services including credentialing, health plan enrollment, managed care contracting, compliance, fee schedule maintenance, billing, payment processing, and collection services.
The selected candidate will report directly to the Executive Vice President for Clinical Affairs and Dean of the College of Medicine and Life Sciences and will be responsible for the management, operational performance, strategic positioning, and programmatic development of UTP. The CPE, under the direction of the Dean, will develop both annual and long-term goals for UTP as well as key performance metrics relative to accomplishing those goals. Such metrics should include such areas as: financial performance, clinical quality, service quality/patient satisfaction and organizational growth. The CPE also shall be responsible for reviewing and implementing UTP’s strategic plan which outlines a future vision for the organization and a strategy for achieving it. The CPE shall be responsible for managing payer relationships and relationships with community-based physician groups and practice organizations. Most importantly, the CPE should be a zealot for both clinical and service quality and ensure that processes and systems are developed and implemented to ensure that high standards of clinical care and service quality are provided on a consistent and continuous basis to all patients being served by UTP.
