In keeping with this commitment to excellence and advanced care, as an Infection Prevention professional, you will have the exciting opportunity to be a part of the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Transplant Institute. MGUH is the largest Liver Transplant Program in the Mid-Atlantic region along with their prestigious Solid Organ and Bone Marrow Transplant Program. In March of 2019 MGUH became the first hospital in the world to offer proton therapy with HYPERSCANtechnology, the most advanced proton cancer treatment technology available today.

 

The Director of Infection Prevention will report to the Chief, Quality and Safety Officer and provide Infection Prevention guidance and support to MGUH leaders, more than 4500 associates and upwards of 1000 physicians.  This new leader will have the opportunity to manage and direct the operational, personnel and financial activities of the Infection Prevention department, and will join a driven, collegial, professional and highly talented leadership team.

 

The Director of Infection Prevention will enjoy serving as mentor, resident expert, and strategic advisor to the organization and be part of the implementation of system programs at the entity level, working with leaders systemwide to ensure alignment of policies, processes, best practices and the uniform delivery of exceptional quality service. The Director of Infection Prevention will join other MGUH leaders, associates and clinicians in embracing the MGUH culture of ‘Cura Personalis’ – caring for the whole person, finding opportunities each day to create a professional, safe and supportive environment for patients, families and each other.

 

The successful candidate will bring a high level of professionalism, exceptional communication, and organizational skills along with a minimum of 10-years of experience in infection prevention inclusive of 7-years leadership experience to the position.  This new leader will have deep knowledge of regulatory standards and laws and possess a Masters Degree in a health care related field. Certification by National Certification Board, CIC, is required. Fellowship in APIC preferred. Experience in hospital epidemiology preferred.
