Security Drives Demand for Facilities Managers
Sept. 11 has led to big changes for facilities managers. Companies now recognize the need to put security issues on the front burner, which means greater responsibilities for such professionals.
“After Sept. 11, security awareness has been extremely heightened everywhere,” says Don Young, Vice President of Communications for the International Facilities Management Association in Houston. “It has become a priority, whereas there might not have been an emphasis on it before.”
